Flabbergasted!

It snowed at my house this weekend. That's right. Kleenex. I have been fighting allergies all winter. I am fairly certain I could build a snotman. I didn't change my clothes all weekend nor did I leave my house except to go to get more Sprite. And you all know how I love thy Sprite. So me and the iPad were pretty intement this weekend. I read a lot of my comments this weekend because I like to go back and reread things to see where I am at in this journey. There are serious days when I think why am I doing this? Its been a year and half and have I really impacted any one's life? I am fairly certain I have provided quite a few laughs, but I go back a revisit my purpose. I speak with one of my blog besties about this alot. Why am I not like all these blogs that have hundreds or even thousands of followers. I mean I sometimes think I am just as funny as Living in Yellow or stylish as The Daybook although I don't have the galls (remember girl balls) to do self-fashion posts yet. But I think that's part of my insecurities of why this blog hasn't grown.

One of the things I struggle with is losing touch with people. I love all the people I have made friends with and I swear even with thousands of followers I would probably beat my self up regularly if I didn't at some point say hello. So I reevaluate and then I read these ..
Or you get emails like this...

Or featured unexpectedly on someone else's blog

I am honestly flabbergasted by it all some days. Yes, this is who I am. The funny girl, sometimes sorta of a sex kitten bombshell (total delusional thought), and mind of a great writer (another total delusional thought). Really, I am just a little insecure country girl who  decided not grow tobacco all her life in a small town. Ok, really, I am a girl who is all about the power of lifting up a woman. I am the girl who doesn't like rules and my vocabulary sometimes could but a sailor to shame, but this is what honestly makes me come back. So, if you enjoy the ride, then so will I, although I will probably tell you to move over and let me drive.

Thank you everyone. Thank you for making my snotbubbles more enjoyable this weekend.

Now, I thought since you guys love the stupidity that keeps you going each day, I thought I would give you a chance to give me a topic and I will write about it. I will choose and next Tuesday, Boom!

Anything you want. I think this should be fun.

Ready set go! And again, thank you all..my heart is humbled.

So what will it be?
Dusty

  3. I have no topic to give you YET. Let me think on it. You rock girl and i love you bunches!! I think we all go through the thoughts of "why do we blog", and worry about gaining and losing followers. You should ponder on how you're gonna get your cute booty here to Texas!! My boyfriend is an amazing babysitter for Ian!

  5. For the record, I think you are just as funny, if not funnier than LIY. You don't hold back, and you send the best comment reply emails. Feel better ASAP!

  9. You're one of the first blogs I ever started reading. Even when I didn't blog, I still read yours. I love you.

I blog for me. I write what I want, when I want. It's not always awesome or great or anything. But, I don't care...cause I'm happy. :)

  10. seee.. look at that. You found why you blog. bottom line, whatever THAT is, that is WHY you do it, and that's what makes it great. Not the numbers.

This is what I want a D perspective on: The Beyonce documentary. Girlfriend I can't stop thinking about it. There is some POWERFUL woman shtuff in there, and I'd love a Dusty spin on it!

  11. THE NUMBERS. The numbers make me CRAZYYYYYYY. You are funny and you are stylish. But you are also true to yourself and your purpose here! I only follow people I truly like reading, so I don't make a lot of new blog friends, which is probably why I have no followers! I'm a blog snob. A blob, for short. Truly funny writers are hard to find, but you are one of them!

Blog about bloggers who write blogging books. Or, childbirthing again so I don't ever want to do it.

  13. Psshttt I prefer your blog over LIY and The Daybook. For reals. I think you are funnier and more real. Plus, I feel like we are friends. I do not feel like I'm friends with those other bloggers... and I don't think I ever will.

Anyway, so have you seen Rihanna's new fashion line? Some are saying it's a disaster, while others think it's awesome. What does the fabulous Dusty think!?

  15. How about a take on how to start blogging. I mean I have alot to say but there are times I see the time and effort it takes you girls and I dont want to be half in it. So what would you tell a blogger who maybe want to start off but isnt sure? Esp bc of the type of work I do, work would be off-limits and then I feel like I have to hold back. I make no sense. :)

  16. Fabulous post! It's weird...I've read through several blogs today and a lot of people (myself included) seem to be doing the heart-pouring thing, which is totally cool. It's refreshing to see these people who seem so happy and carefree show their true feelings occassionally instead of always putting it out there that everything is roses and rainbows all the time. I dig. Um, topic to tackle? How about...most embarrassing high school memory. You have one week to get your story straight. I'm timing you. Go!
