I can't believe I am going to show this picture, but its sorta necessary I reckon so you get the purpose of this post. I am a shrimp. 5'4". Dumpy legs, no tibbies well perky tibbies and built like a line backer. Which is why I have an issue with my personal fashion posts. My MaKaila rocks this out of the park. Marion my new style blog obsession..ugh give me her legs please, but me I am just one giant blob. I am also not much of a dress person because my fluffy just can't figure out where to rest. I mean its like looking at two pigs fighting over a piece of cornbread back there, so me and sexy sorta don't get along.
This was my first wack at a Maxi dress and honestly I was in love. Flowey and light. There's no conflict because everything is just kind of free and if you got the muffin top nobody can see whatcha bakin'.
So here it is....We went to a wine tasting at a wonderful local vineyard last year and had a great time. That's one of my BFF's, Lorraine. I couldn't cut her out. I bought this maxi at Kohls for $6 smacks. Can you believe it. I adore it, which makes me want more. And it was wonderful because it was blazing hot that day.
I am wanting a few more for this summer. But I really should work on my arm muscle tone a little more.
All of these I found on Victoria's Secret and the first one I am in love with but double stick tape might be in order. Not as much as I love Hunter Boots but I am sure I could put this on and all the piggy swirl would disappear in the bed sheet I would be wearing.
So this summer, I vow to wear a dress..a maxi dress.
What do you think about the maxi dresses? Are they all you and a bag of chips?
Happy Wednesday. I am going to hide under a rock now.
Dusty
Oooh, I love them! I'm a huge sundress fan. (Also, I too am 5'4. All of my friends are taller than me, so I feel your pain!)
ReplyDeleteIn other news, I nominated you for a blog award!

Let me know if you do it, I'd love to see :)
I love maxi dresses, although I think shorts are shaping up to be my obsession this summer. Your maxi dress is pretty, love the contrasting prints, and I think you look good, you have nothing to worry about!!
ReplyDeleteSissy you're so pretty! I need a maxi dress to hide my muffin top but I'm afraid it will make me look shorter than I already am - insert grumpy kid face. Can you breathe yet?

Dusty, you are absolutely gorgeous!! The dress is perfect on you, I can't believe you got it at Kohl's for $6!! I also can't believe you've been nervous to post outfit pics too, cause you have great style and are so pretty. I'm so proud of you!! :D <3 you over and over...and get the 1st VS dress.
ReplyDeleteum that is the most gorgeous picture of you ever! Your hair couldn't be more perfect (cut, style, highlights) and your tatas look AWESOME! you are tan and cut! Love it girl! You are totally rocking the maxi dress!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with all the comments above...you are flat-out gorgeous and I love it when you post photos of your style! This dress is so beautiful...and for $6 you totally scored!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the shout-out girl...you just made my day! XOXO
Marion
I LIVE in maxi dresses in the summer. And in the fall sometimes too with a sweater. I found a really awesome one at Target the other day. PS you look gorg in that picture.
ReplyDeletelove maxis (dresses not pads, just wanted to clear that up). and i love even more that you say "i reckon".
ReplyDeleteI live in maxi dresses! They are so comfy!! I'm vowing to try the hi-low maxi (mullet maxi) this spring. Once you go maxi you won't go back...so comfy!
ReplyDeleteYou look ridiculously faboo in that picture up there. I also love that you pointed out that you couldn't cut out your friend. Isn't that the worst?
ReplyDeleteAnd I love maxis. Except I am 5'2 and I always need to get them hemmed. Unless I buy a maxi skirt meant for normal people. Then I can wear that as a dress.
I have one from Fox (the dirt bike company)...it was the only way I could see myself wearing one and I love it...I also freeball in it. TMI I know (a lot of that today) but they are damn comfy. Plus at night when it gets chilly they counter act as a big blanket. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on letting Fluffy out of his cage! You NEED to post OOTD's more often. Loving the maxi dresses.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe in them.
ReplyDeletethis must shock the crap out of you.
DeleteOk A. I do love a good maxi dress. B. You're not fluffy. You just aren't. C. Shay is absurd. Who doesn't believe in a maxi dress? Crazy people, THATS who.
ReplyDeleteYep, I went there.
I love maxi dresses!
ReplyDeleteI have never owned a Maxi, because I am shrimpier than you. 5'2" and I feel like I look incredible silly in long dresses. But I think you look great in that dress. Rock it!
ReplyDeletei am totally up for a maxi dress (never knew thats what they were called)... AND the Long skirt trend.. but I am 5'3 so i never thought i could pull it off.. since you tried, maybe i will have to also =)
ReplyDeletep.s.just wanted to let ya know i tagged you in my post "grown up slam book."--just in case you were looking for something to blog =)
Seriously, you are freaking ridiculously gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMaxi dress...I've always been a supporter of shorter dresses/skirts, but maybe for Spain, they would be a great choice? Brilliant my friend! Thanks! Happy hump day! :)
Girl you are rocking that dress. No lie. It's crazy how warped women's self-image can be. You are a hottie to the max, and you should be proud.
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous Dusty!!! Seriously, the whole time I was like what is she talking about?! Ok, and that pink Victoria's Secret dress may need to be mine :)
ReplyDeleteI love maxi dresses!! And ooh la la, what are you worried about? You look FABulous!!
ReplyDeleteI was never into the maxis til this year! I now own 3 from Target haha. Super comfy; I declare it is the summer of the maxi! Love all of the ones you posted!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. The fluffy is all in your head, I see none of it anywhere.
ReplyDeleteAww you look stunning! I am also a huge fan of maxi dresses, but being at a short 5"3' it's hard to come by some that fit me well! Sighhhh.
ReplyDelete:)

You look fab in that dress! I love it! :) I'm 5'4" too so I know allll about being short and squatty.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I had no idea what you were talking about when you left that comment on my instagram pic. I thought you were making fun of me! Baha.
ReplyDeleteThose are all really cute. I bought one at TJMaxx, only to discover that since I'm on the taller side (5'7), not all maxi dresses are long enough, and I looked ridiculous. So, I finally found that one at Target that actually goes all the way to the floor.
hell yeah...great minds do think alike!!! We are now Maxi twinkies....better than being maxi pads! ;)
ReplyDeletexo,
Shanna
