Everybody All Skate

This year is all about fun. A few weeks ago, I told you how I was thinking outside my box in fashion and have been looking for fun things I would normally admire but never buy. Then came the sneaker wedge and since then it's been fun trying to put things together that are casual cool.

Roller skating back in the day was the place to be. Did this girl get a new pair of skates at 13 years old? Sure did. White with blue wheels and blue pom poms with bells. I was slicker than shit on a cats behind. Skating then became more about what couple was in the corner getting to first base and a LOT of kissing and then you out grow it. I still like to go roller skating now that I have the Kid. So, when I came across this t-shirt, I was smitten. I love novelty tees.

and the new wedge sneakers

This to me is fun style. Everyone kept saying "what will you wear them with?" Here ya go! A throw back salute to the days of being a girl thinking she was cool. Of course, I also had the Madonna bob with lots of curls. Strike a pose.

Here's the kicker. I was going to buy this tee but it's an extra small. So if anyone knows where I could buy another one in a medium or large (because I dry everything in the dryer on high in truth because I am a lazy), I would love ya for life.

Happy Wednesday from the Tater Queen! What's your throwback outfit?

Dusty

  2. Great t-shirt and outfit, although I'm not a heels girlso I'd be wearing it with converse. I haven't roller skated in years but my friends 6 year old really enjoys it so we are going to the rink when I next visit. Hope you find the t-shirt in the right size.

  3. Gosh I miss having a Roller Rink! Ours closed when I was in high school! The closest one is an hour away. I can't wait til my boy gets bigger to take him! I will probably fall on my ass! I might need to steal a walker from the disabled. ha!

  4. Do you remember the old school 80's adidas Vols shirts? I freaking love those! I need one! That's my throwback. I can totally see you with your Farrah hair at the roller rink on Friday nights, making out with boys with your bell bottoms on. haha

  6. Awesomeness right there!! So i just have to tell you that Yes its true, i have a pair of roller skates in my garage. I bought them 15 years ago and it took me forever to find them because roller blades totally kicked the skates to the side. I'm not coordinated enough to rollerbade.
When i think of rollerskates- i think of couple skating, michael jackson, and satin jackets. I'm an 80's girl! Oh and making out behind the skating rink. Sshhh just a few times. Come on!

  7. I like your fun style sissy! Can we go roller skating when we finally meet? Preferably before the sangria because drunk roller skating sounds disastrous.

  8. I love that tee! And I used to love roller skating, my skates were pink (as if you are surprised). But truth be told, I was terrible at it. I could not figure out how to stop. So I always had to run into a wall to stop. I loved when my friends had bday parties at roller skating rinks, so that I could roller skate in an endless circle listening to Lisa Loeb. Those were the days! :)

  10. I once bought a shirt in an extra small because that's all they had and I wanted it so badly. It then shrink in the wash. Now it would only fit a five year old.

  11. I love roller blading. I'll admit though, my mom made me roller skate one day at the Classic Skating and I was embarrassed because all the cool kids had roller blades.
